Héctor Rodríguez began to receive his first vocal technique studies with Cuban tenor Ramón Chávez, who was first figure of the National Lirico Theater for more than 20 years. Later, in 2003, he entered at the Lyric Singing Teaching Unit of the Amadeo Roldán Conservatory.
He has participated in masterclasses with Jorge de León, Carlos Montané, Lucy Arner, Nancy Fabiola Herrera, Robert Desimone, Carlos Aranzay or Manfred Shiebel, among others.
He has sung in the most important theaters of Cuba, such as La Habana Great Theater, National Theater of Cuba, Heredia Theater of Santiago de Cuba, Thomas Terry of the city of Cienfuegos, La Caridad in the city of Santa Clara, among others.
In 2017 he obtained the first Prize for tenor voice of the International Lyric Singing Contest of Peru, as well as the Panama Opera Foundation Award.
After this Prize, he began to sing regularly in Panamá. He has sung at the Panamá National Theater, the National University and the Autonomous University of Chiriquí. Also, along October 2018, he was invited by the Panamá Philarmonic Orchestra to sing several concerts for the centenary of Leonard Bernstein.
In 2019 he is a finalist of the Alfredo Kraus International Singing Contest and wins the Second Prize of the Zarzuela Contest in Valleseco (Gran Canaria).
Despite his youth, he has sung the roles of Mario Cavaradossi (Tosca), Federico (L´arlesiana), Lensky (Eugenio Oneguin), Werther (Werther), Alfredo Germont (La Traviata), Luigi (Il Tabarro), Calaf (Turandot), Rodolfo (La Boheme), Edgardo (Lucia di Lamermoor), etc. This season he has made his debut as Florestan (Fidelio) at La Habana Great Theater.
